“Families are like the branches of a tree: we each grow in different directions, but our roots remain the same.” Nobody and nothing prepared us for the job of parent or son / daughter. We understand and relate to the world through the lenses with which our parents looked, and they through the magnifying glass of their parents and so on. But the world is evolving at a dizzying speed, and new generations are coming with “equipment” and an increasingly complex system of values and emotions. Thus, the way those before us or even those we live with make decisions, the way they choose to relate in the family context, at the office or in society can become real challenges, if we do not understand what is behind these manifestations. However, there are clues that explain to all of us how we end up taking certain behaviors or actions in an unconscious way, almost uncontrolled, from generation to generation.
